About Spirit Tree Apothecary
Spirit Tree Apothecary is a modern herbal practice rooted in ancestral knowledge, magic, and mindful care. Founded in June of 2021 and officially launched in June of 2024, it reflects the evolving work of a clinical herbalist dedicated to helping others reconnect with the healing power of plants. Our mission is to support holistic care through handcrafted herbal remedies, digital plant-centered resources, and intentional self-care practices.
We specialize in creating inclusive, intuitive offerings rooted in both traditional wisdom and modern healing. Our offerings are created with intention and care for the LGBTQIA+ community, those in Tech, and anyone navigating stress and burnout in today’s world.
The name Spirit Tree Apothecary was inspired by the ancient symbol of the World Tree. A sacred presence woven through many cultures and mythologies. Known by names such as Yggdrasil in Norse lore, the Tree of Life in spiritual traditions, or the Ceiba in Mesoamerican mythology, the World Tree stands as a powerful connection point between realms: the heavens, the earth, and the underworld.
More than just a symbol of connection, the World Tree is also a keeper of knowledge and wisdom — a living archive of ancestral memory, healing, and transformation. For me, the Spirit Tree represents the path to deeper understanding: of plants, of spirit, and of self. It reminds us that healing is not a destination but a journey — rooted, reaching, and ever evolving.

Hi, I’m Phil — a Clinical Herbalist, queer practitioner, and founder of Spirit Tree Apothecary.
From the fast-paced world of tech to the grounded path of plant medicine, my journey into herbalism began after nearly a decade working in high-pressure environments. I know firsthand the toll burnout, stress, and disconnection can take — especially in tech spaces and within queer and marginalized communities. After landing a permanent role at a major Bay Area tech company, I finally had the space to reflect on what truly mattered. That pause allowed me to reconnect with parts of myself I had long buried, explore my Indigenous heritage, and understand why so many people in my life had always called me a healer. Herbalism became a bridge — connecting me to my ancestors, offering gentle support for my own health, and helping me embrace the role of healer with intention. In 2021, I began offering herbal support professionally, and in 2022, I completed my clinical herbalist certification. I officially launched Spirit Tree Apothecary as an LLC in 2024, following the success of my Magick Relief Balm which debuted at The Scarlet Sage Herb Co. in San Francisco the year prior. My mission is to provide herbal remedies and holistic support for those navigating stress, burnout, identity, and transformation — especially within the tech industry and LGBTQIA+ community. Through plant medicine, intentional rituals, and a touch of magic, I’m here to help you come back to yourself. |
